65-Inch Samsung Frame Mounted on a Dot-and-Dab Wall in Stockwell

This 65-inch 2024 Samsung Frame was mounted in Stockwell, SW8, using the original Samsung Slim Fit wall mount supplied with the television. The dot-and-dab wall had an approximate 2cm gap and insulation behind the plasterboard. The mount was suitable, but an uneven wall surface initially prevented the screen from sitting flush.

Project Overview

This 65-inch 2024 Samsung Frame was mounted on a dot-and-dab wall in Stockwell using the original Samsung Slim Fit wall mount. An uneven area behind the television initially prevented it from sitting flush, so the wall surface was carefully corrected before the mount and concealed One Connect arrangement were completed.

Why the Samsung Frame Was Not Sitting Flush

The Samsung Slim Fit mount is intended to hold the Frame close to the wall. In this room, the problem was not the supplied mount. An uneven area behind the television was holding part of the screen away from the finished surface.

Preparing the Wall for the Slim Fit Mount

Before fitting the television, we carefully sanded the affected area until the surface was even enough for the screen to sit correctly. The supplied mount was then secured with four GripIt plasterboard fixings. No packing or spacers were needed.

Concealing the One Connect Cable

The One Connect box was housed inside the cabinet below the television. The One Connect cable was concealed between the screen and cabinet, while power was connected behind the cabinet at the bottom rather than through a socket behind the TV.

The Finished Gallery-Style Result

The final height and centre were chosen in relation to the cabinet and viewing position. Once the uneven area had been corrected, the Frame and light-coloured magnetic bezel sat flush above the cabinet, producing the intended gallery-style result.
