Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how TV Mount Mate collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you visit our website, contact us, or use our TV mounting services. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data responsibly.

Plain-English summary

TV Mount Mate installs TVs on walls for customers across Greater London, Essex, and Kent. To quote, book, and carry out your job properly, we need to collect some personal information, such as your name, contact details, address, and photos of your wall or TV.

Here’s the short version:

  • We only collect what we need to give you a quote, book your appointment, and complete the installation safely.

  • We use your photos of walls, TVs, brackets, cables, and similar job details to plan and carry out the job, and to keep a record of the work.

  • We only use customer photos for marketing with your permission.

  • We don’t sell your data, and we don’t pass it to marketing companies or data brokers.

  • We don’t send newsletters or promotional emails — we only message you about your enquiry, booking, job, or aftercare.

  • We take payment in cash or by bank transfer only. We never see or store your card details, because we don’t take card payments.

  • Our website uses some analytics and tracking tools. Non-essential cookies and tracking technologies are controlled through our cookie banner where consent is required.

  • You have rights over your data, including the right to see it, correct it, or ask us to delete it.

The full details are set out below.

2. Who we are

TV Mount Mate is the trading name of TV MOUNT MATE LIMITED, a limited company registered in England and Wales. Company number: 14272886.

All of our TV installations are carried out by our own in-house installers. We do not use subcontractors.

  • Postcode, and full address if needed for the booking

  • TV size

  • Wall type, such as plasterboard, brick, dot-and-dab, or chimney breast

  • Photos of your wall, TV, TV model label, bracket, socket position, cable route, existing installation, failed installation, or wall damage

  • Preferred appointment date

  • Any message or special request you include

  • WhatsApp messages and photos

  • Your booking history with us

  • Job notes

  • Before and after job photos

  • Completed installation photos

  • Reviews and feedback you give us

We do not collect card or contactless payment details, because we do not currently accept card payments.

4. How we collect personal data

We collect personal data when you:

  • Fill in a quote request or contact form on our website

  • Message us via WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business

  • Call, text, or email us directly

  • Send us photos before, during, or after a booking

  • Speak with our installer on the day of your job

  • Give us a review or feedback after a completed job

Our website enquiry forms are sent directly to our email inbox using Gmail/Google. We do not currently use a separate booking or calendar system.

5. Where your personal data comes from

We do not use cold-calling, data-buying, or third-party lead lists. The personal data we hold comes directly from you when you contact us, request a quote, send photos, make a booking, speak to us about a job, or leave a review.

6. How we use your personal data

We use your personal data to:

  • Provide quotes and estimates for TV mounting and related services

  • Arrange, confirm, and manage bookings

  • Carry out the installation safely and correctly, for example by knowing your wall type or TV size in advance

  • Communicate with you about your enquiry, booking, appointment, or job

  • Keep a job record for service history, proof of work, warranty, and quality control

  • Respond to questions or requests for support after the job

  • Ask for reviews or feedback after a completed job

  • Meet our legal, accounting, and tax obligations

  • Understand and improve how our website performs, using analytics tools where active — see Section 10

We do not use your data to send newsletters, promotions, or third-party marketing of any kind. Our customer communication is limited to quote replies, booking messages, job updates, follow-ups, review requests, and aftercare.

7. Legal basis for using your data

Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following lawful bases:

  • Contract performance: to respond to your quote request, arrange your booking, carry out the installation work, and provide aftercare.

  • Legitimate interests: to follow up on enquiries, keep service records and proof of work, handle disputes, improve our service and website performance, and protect our business.

  • Consent: for non-essential cookies and tracking technologies where required, and for using your photos in marketing.

  • Legal obligation: to keep accounting, tax, and company records as required by law.

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time — see Section 15.

8. Photos, reviews, and Recent Work examples

Taking photos is a normal part of how we work. They help us plan the job, confirm details with our installers, and keep a record of completed work.

Service records

We may store job photos, including walls, brackets, cables, before/after photos, and completed installation photos, for our own service records, proof of work, quality control, warranty support, insurance, and future customer support.

Marketing use

We may also want to use selected before/after or completed installation photos to showcase our work, for example on:

  • Our website’s Recent Work pages

  • Our Google Business Profile

  • Instagram, Facebook, or other business social media profiles

We only use your photos for marketing with your permission.

Where we use photos for marketing, we:

  • Try to avoid showing personal information in the photo

  • Do not publish your name, full address, phone number, email address, or other private details alongside job photos

  • Use general location wording only, such as a town or area name, or “London”, “Essex”, or “Kent”, rather than your exact address

If you’d rather your photos weren’t used for marketing, just let us know and we won’t use them. This doesn’t affect us keeping photos for our own service and quality records.

9. Payments

We currently accept payment on completion of the job, by cash or bank transfer only. We do not currently accept card or contactless payments.

Because we don’t process card payments, we do not collect or store any card details. If you pay by bank transfer, we only see the information needed to confirm the payment has been received, consistent with standard banking practice.

10. Cookies, analytics, and tracking

Our website may use cookies, pixels, tags, or similar technologies to help it run properly and to help us understand how visitors use the site.

Strictly necessary cookies

These are needed for the website to function correctly, such as remembering your cookie preferences. They do not require consent and cannot be switched off.

Search performance tools

We use Google Search Console to understand how our website appears in Google Search results, such as which search terms bring visitors to the site. Google Search Console does not place tracking cookies on visitors through our website.

Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics 4, where active, to understand how visitors use our website, such as which pages are viewed and how visitors arrive at the site.

Behavioural analytics / heatmap cookies

We use Microsoft Clarity, where active, to understand how visitors interact with our website, such as scrolling and click patterns, to help us improve the site. We aim to configure this tool to avoid capturing personal information where possible.

Marketing/advertising cookies

We use the Meta Pixel and Google Ads tracking, where active, to help us understand the effectiveness of our advertising.

Call tracking and WhatsApp click tracking

Where active, we use call tracking and WhatsApp click tracking to understand which enquiries come from our marketing activity.

Your choices

Non-essential cookies — including analytics, heatmap, advertising, and marketing cookies — are controlled through our cookie banner where consent is required. You can accept, decline, or change your choice using the Cookie Settings link in our website footer.

You can also block or delete cookies at any time using your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of our website work, though the site should remain usable.

11. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

We share personal data only where necessary, with trusted service providers who help us run our business, including:

  • IONOS — our website hosting provider

  • Google / Gmail — for email communication and enquiry forms

  • WhatsApp / Meta — for messages and photos sent via WhatsApp

  • Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and Google Ads — where active, for website performance and advertising insight

  • Microsoft Clarity — where active, for website usage insight

  • Meta / Facebook Pixel — where active, for advertising insight

  • Our call tracking provider, where active

  • Our accountant or bookkeeper, where needed for financial and tax records

  • Legal, insurance, or regulatory bodies, where required by law or to protect our legitimate interests

We do not pass your data to data brokers or third-party marketing companies.

12. International transfers

Some of the service providers we use, such as Google, Meta/WhatsApp, and Microsoft, may process personal data outside the UK as part of their normal operations.

Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers have in place, such as UK-approved international data transfer mechanisms, contractual data protection clauses, or adequacy arrangements recognised under UK data protection law.

13. How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it:

  • Enquiry and booking records: kept for at least 3 years from your last interaction with us, unless you ask us to delete your data sooner and we have no legal or business reason to keep it.

  • Job notes and job photos: kept for at least 3 years, where needed for service history, proof of work, warranty support, insurance, quality control, or future customer support.

  • Financial, invoice, and tax records: kept for 6 years, in line with accounting, company, and HMRC requirements.

  • WhatsApp messages and emails: may be kept as part of your booking and service record for the periods above.

Where data is no longer needed, we delete it securely or anonymise it where practical.

14. How we protect your data

We take reasonable steps to keep your data secure, including:

  • Using HTTPS security on our website

  • Limiting access to personal data to authorised people only

  • Protecting our email, WhatsApp, and business accounts with passwords and device security

  • Using customer data only where it’s genuinely needed to provide our service

  • Not collecting or storing any card payment details, since we don’t accept card payments

  • Taking care with photos to avoid unnecessarily exposing private information

  • Applying other reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to our business

15. Your UK GDPR rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access — ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you

  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data

  • Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data, where there’s no legal or business reason for us to keep it

  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances

  • Object — object to us using your data for certain purposes, such as legitimate interests

  • Data portability — ask for certain data in a portable format, where applicable

  • Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent, for example cookies or marketing photo use, withdraw it at any time

  • Complain to the ICO — see Section 16

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 20.

16. Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your personal data, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it — see Section 20.

You also have the right to complain to the UK’s data protection regulator:

Information Commissioner’s Office
Website: https://ico.org.uk
Phone: 0303 123 1113

17. Children’s privacy

Our service is intended for adults arranging TV installation work at a home or business. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and, if you’re the parent or guardian, we will delete that data promptly.

18. Automated decision-making and profiling

We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you.

If our website offers an online quote estimate, this is a simple calculation based on the service options you select, such as TV size, wall type, or bracket type. It is not a final or binding price, and a member of our team will confirm your actual quote before any booking is finalised.

19. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if our services, tools, or legal obligations change. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
