75-Inch Samsung Frame Pro Wall Mounting With a Hidden Power Cable in Muswell Hill

TV Mount Mate completed this 75-inch Samsung Frame Pro wall mounting in Muswell Hill, N10, using Samsung’s original Slim Fit wall mount. The newly renovated dot-and-dab wall had less than 1cm between the plasterboard and solid masonry — too little room to pass the television’s power cable behind it.

Project Overview

The main challenge was finding a safe and practical way to conceal the power cable once the original route behind the plasterboard proved unusable. Rather than forcing the connector through the restricted space, the installation was re-planned around the cable dimensions, allowing a protected and replaceable route to be formed while preserving the finished appearance of the newly renovated wall.

Why the Cable Would Not Pass Behind the Plasterboard

TV Mount Mate mounted the television on Samsung's original bracket, opened the first access point and fed the power cable towards the gap behind the plasterboard. The moulded connector was thicker than the space available and would not pass through. Further attempts confirmed the route was not workable. TV Mount Mate took the television back off the wall, measured the connector and cable, and planned a route that did not force either through the restricted gap.

Removing the TV and Forming a New Cable Route

With the television off the wall, TV Mount Mate used those measurements to form a channel in the wall surface. The power cable runs inside a protective sleeve along this channel, so it never sits in direct contact with the filler and can be replaced later without reopening the wall. TV Mount Mate filled the channel over the sleeve with Polyfilla, then sanded and painted the repair to match the newly finished wall, reinstalled the television on the Slim Fit mount and tested it.

Finished Result

The completed Samsung Frame Pro installation shows no visible power cable and no visible repair line. Only the television's power cable was concealed. No HDMI, Ethernet, aerial or optical cables were routed in the wall.
