This TV wall mount installation in Dalston, E8, involved a 55-inch Samsung QN70F on a renovated dot-and-dab wall. A power point sat in the middle of the planned screen position, so the bracket, three HDMI routes and alignment within the decorative moulding had to be planned together before drilling.

This project involved mounting a 55-inch Samsung QN70F on a renovated dot-and-dab wall in Dalston. The installation had to be planned around a central power point, concealed HDMI routes and decorative wall moulding, with the bracket fixed through to the solid block behind.
The power point occupied part of the space needed by the bracket and television. Its position, the bracket plate and the three HDMI routes were considered together before drilling.
The new plasterboard was in good condition. Because the gap was around 17.5mm, the fixing layout could pass through to the solid block rather than rely on the plasterboard alone. This method was selected for this assessed wall.
Three 3-metre ultra-slim 8K HDMI cables were concealed from behind the television to behind the cabinet. They connected the Sky box, Apple TV and Sonos Beam through HDMI/eARC. The television’s normal power lead plugged directly into the existing socket behind the screen and was not concealed.
The customer selected a height with the bottom of the television approximately 70cm from the floor. The screen now sits centred within the decorative wall moulding and aligned with the cabinet below.

The original Samsung Slim Fit mount was suitable, but an uneven wall surface first had to be sanded so the Frame could sit flush. Four GripIt fixings were used, with the One Connect box housed inside the cabinet.
Four LG-supplied fixings entered the concrete block and two metal plasterboard fixings completed the bracket layout. The existing socket was recessed to preserve the G6’s close-to-wall finish.
The television was centred for the main viewing position, with a recessed socket behind it allowing the original LG bracket to sit close to the wall without covering the existing connection plates below.
