On the LG G5 jobs I have completed, the supplied bracket was only one part of getting the screen close to the wall. An uneven surface, a socket or plug in the wrong place, or a connector that needs more room can all hold the television forward.
The original LG bracket normally gives the closest result, but only when the wall, power position and cable route work with it. If an existing socket needs more clearance, another compatible bracket may be the better choice. Flush does not guarantee an absolute zero-millimetre gap in every property.
After more than 10 years and 6,000 installations, I check those details before choosing the bracket and marking the wall.
Does the LG G5 Come With a Wall Mount?
Wall-mount versions of the LG G5 are generally supplied with LG’s flush-fit wall bracket. Listings may describe the concept as Zero Gap or an Ultra Slim fixed wall mount, so check the complete model number and package contents.
LG notes that a bracket may not be supplied with a G5 stand variant. Contents can vary by model, screen size, package and region, so do not assume every G5 includes both.
What Stops an LG G5 Sitting Flush?
Uneven plaster, raised repairs or decorative panels can prevent the wall plate sitting flat. Sockets, plugs and bulky connectors can also hold the screen forward. Cables must not be sharply bent, pinched or trapped to force it closer.
Calculate the final screen position from the bracket attachment points. A misplaced cable exit may sit outside the connection area or become inaccessible. A photograph may not reveal a raised section, so inspect the surface and plan sockets, connectors and cable exits before drilling.
Can You Use Another Bracket With an LG G5?
Some G5 models may accept a compatible alternative bracket. Check the exact model’s mounting pattern, weight, screw requirements, rear layout and LG instructions. Screen size or “fits LG televisions” is not enough.
The supplied bracket normally gives the closest finish. Another compatible bracket will usually leave a larger gap, but may be better when movement or socket clearance is required. See how to check whether a wall mount fits a particular television.
How Does the Wall Construction Change the Installation?
Brick, hollow plasterboard, timber or metal studs and dot-and-dab over a solid wall require different assessments. The visible surface does not always reveal the complete construction.
Consider wall condition, cavity depth, studs, bracket-hole positions, television weight, leverage and possible service routes together. There is no universal fixing recipe, and a fixing used on one inspected wall is not automatically suitable for another. Our plasterboard TV-mounting guide explains further.
How Heavy Is the LG G5?
For the 55-, 65-, 77- and 83-inch UK G5 models covered here, LG lists these weights and VESA patterns:
| LG G5 Screen Size | Weight Without Stand | LG-Listed VESA Pattern |
|---|---|---|
| 55-inch | 16.8 kg | 300 × 200 mm |
| 65-inch | 22 kg | 300 × 300 mm |
| 77-inch | 33.6 kg | 300 × 300 mm |
| 83-inch | 39 kg (approximately 86 lb) | 400 × 400 mm |
Sources: LG UK specifications for the 55-inch, 65-inch, 77-inch and 83-inch G5 models.
These figures exclude the bracket and connected equipment. The VESA pattern identifies the mounting-hole spacing only. It does not confirm that another bracket has the correct load rating, screws, rear clearance, port access or wall-plate layout.
Confirm the complete UK model before choosing a bracket or planning the lift. Large screens can be difficult to control even when the recorded weight appears manageable.
LG strongly recommends professional installation to support safety, alignment and protection of the television, particularly for larger screen sizes. This is a manufacturer recommendation, not a claim that professional installation is legally required.
Plan the Position, Sockets and Cables Before Drilling
Start from the main seat and seated eye level, then consider glare. Measure the television and calculate its final position from the bracket attachment points.
Confirm power, connector clearance, soundbar position and where devices will be kept. Keep required connections accessible and test the screen outline with masking tape before drilling.
A socket behind the television works only when its position, plug depth and bracket clearance align. Cable options depend on the wall and cables involved, as our TV cable-concealment guide explains.
What Three Real LG G5 Installations Show
At Royal Wharf, E16, a 65-inch G5 used its original bracket on dot-and-dab. A recessed power socket was planned behind it, no spacers were needed and the lower connection plates remained accessible.
In Chatham, ME4, an insulated metal-stud partition with roughly a two-inch cavity took the original bracket using metal toggles selected for that wall. Three HDMI cables were concealed between the television and floating cabinet.
In Northwood, HA6, an existing socket and plug needed more clearance than the flush bracket allowed. A fixed One For All bracket with spacers worked with the power arrangement and LG soundbar below.
Frequently Asked Questions.
Wall-mount variants generally include LG’s flush-fit bracket, but stand variants may not. Check the exact model and package contents before buying anything separately.
It depends on the exact model. Check its mounting pattern, weight, screw specification, rear layout and LG documentation before choosing another bracket.
The G5 is designed strongly around wall mounting, but stand variants and compatible stands may be available. Confirm the package for your exact screen size and model.
The supplied LG bracket normally gives the closest finish. A verified alternative may be better when movement or extra socket and connector clearance are required.
Not simply because they are OLED. Compatibility depends on the mounting pattern, weight, rear layout, manufacturer instructions and required wall clearance.
No. Mounts, mounting patterns, screw requirements and supplied accessories can differ between models, screen sizes, packages and regions.
LG lists the UK 55-inch G5 at 16.8kg without its stand. Confirm the complete model specification before buying a bracket.
